Hello!
I’m Lily (L.Ost). I love to travel and discover new places! Fortunately, because of my husband’s job, I have had the chance to live overseas. Several years ago we lived in Paris, France and we currently in Brussels, Belgium. I am loving how easy it is to travel from here and how many different things there are to do and explore. My passion for traveling started on a memorable trip back in the Spring of 2010. We were living in Paris at the time and took our first big European road trip from there. That First Trip out of Paris did not go as planned. I had to do a lot of improvising while on the go. It was like a do-it-yourself, crash course in travel. Consequently, I learned a lot on that trip. That ended up being a huge benefit we hadn’t counted on. I discovered travel tools and tourist tricks that I still use today. But the best that came out of a situation that could have been a disaster, is that it took us to places we wouldn’t have gone otherwise. We had so many “WOW” and inspiring moments that left me wanting more and we made memories we’ll never forget. The fact that we had obstacles and hurdles has not stopped me from new ventures. In fact it sparked my desire to travel more. This time around, I’ve been back in Europe one summer and have already traveled through six countries on an epic Summer Road Trip.
LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES
Since that first trip, I have become a better vacation planner, a better packer, and a better traveler all together. Are my vacations perfect now? Heck no!! We frequently encounter roadblocks. But I’ve learned to either go around them, jump over them or immerse myself in them. We take a lot of vacations! Some last two days, some go for weeks and some are just day trips. In my blogs I will share my travel adventures with you as well as the travel tools I use to make them happen. If you share my love to travel, I hope I will inspire you to travel more. Maybe my experiences in traveling can help you prepare better for yours. A ‘We can do this!’ attitude, Wi-Fi, and flexibility will get you far!
In the end, when we look back, we remember the good times, the oooh & aaah moments and laugh at the blunders that make for good stories and interesting conversations.
Why this Blog?
Every time we travel, I post numerous pictures of our travels on social media for family and friends to see. Additionally, I’d like to offer more than captions and share the stories behind those pictures: the lessons we’ve learned, the pleasant surprises and mistakes we’ve made. The things that came with ease and the things we had to work a little harder for. This is the venue I will use for elaborating on our adventures and mishaps. Pictures say a thousand words. But the stories that go with those pictures are priceless!
Travel Expert??
I am not, by any means, a travel expert. But I do travel quite a bit and am merely sharing my family’s experiences. Being a military family has had us relocating every few years. So being in new places and learning the ropes fast is something I’ve become quite proficient at. My wish is to encourage you to travel more. Explore new places. Meet new people. Just get out there and make unforgettable memories! So, if you decide to read along as I get ‘Lost in Travel, Again’, I hope it’s informative, helpful and at the very least, I hope you find it entertaining.
